Veraz Petroleum announces change of auditor



    CALGARY, Feb. 19 /CNW/ - Veraz Petroleum Ltd. (VRAZ - CNQ) (the "Company"
or "Veraz") wishes to announce that Lancaster & David has resigned as auditor
and KPMG LLP has become the new auditor of the Company.
    The resignation of Lancaster & David was instigated by the decision of
the Company to change its year-end from January 31 to December 31 and the
change in the Company's corporate jurisdiction and head office from British
Columbia to Alberta. The Company has delivered to Lancaster & David the change
of auditor notice required by National Instrument 51-102 ("NI 51-102") and
will include the reporting package (as defined in NI 51-102) in the management
information circular for the annual shareholder meeting expected to be held in
the latter half of 2008 to, among other things, receive the audited financial
statements for the period ended December 31, 2007.

    Veraz is a junior international oil and gas exploration company based in
western Canada and listed on the Canadian Trading and Quotation System Inc.
