VANCOUVER, Oct. 1 /CNW/ - Buzz Hargrove, former President of the
CAW-Canada, has sought clarification of a story that appeared in The Vancouver
Sun on June 18, 2007. The story reported remarks made by Dr. Brian Day, then
president-elect of the Canadian Medical Association, at a public meeting
hosted by the Canadian Science Writers Association of June 17, 2007.
During the meeting Dr. Day alleged that Hargrove, upon suffering a
serious knee injury in February 2004, had used his position to secure within
the public health care system early and preferential treatment over other
