Uzboy Project Operational Updates



    CALGARY, Oct. 30 /CNW/ - Alhambra Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: ALH) ("Alhambra"
or the "Corporation") is pleased to provide a number of updates on its 100%
owned Uzboy Project located in north central Kazakhstan. These updates
include:
    
    -  Engaging an additional diamond drilling rig for the Uzboy gold deposit
    -  Exploration updates for the Kirtoge and Aygabak zones
    -  Additional diamond drill results from the West and Central zones of
       the Uzboy gold deposit
    

    A. ADDITIONAL DIAMOND DRILL RIG

    A third diamond drill has been engaged to commence and accelerate
drilling on the East zone of the Uzboy gold deposit. The objective of the
planned drilling program is to determine if the Inferred mineral resource
contained in the oxide portion of the East zone as estimated by ACA Howe
International Ltd. ("Howe") can be upgraded to either a Measured or Indicated
mineral resource.
    A National Instrument 43-101 technical report entitled "Resources and
Reserve Estimation Study on the Uzboy Gold Deposit, Akmola Oblast, Kazakhstan"
(the "Report") dated June 5, 2007 was prepared by Howe. The Report prepared by
Howe estimated that approximately 186,000 ounces of gold (8.735 million tonnes
at an average gold grade of 0.67 grams per tonne ("g/t")) classified as an
Inferred mineral resource is contained in the oxide portion of the East zone
of the Uzboy gold deposit. Inferred mineral resources have a greater amount of
uncertainty as to their existence and as to whether they can be mined legally
or economically. It cannot be assumed that all or any part of the Inferred
mineral resource will ever be upgraded to the Measured or Indicated mineral
resource categories. Mineral resources that are not mineral reserves do not
have demonstrated economic viability.
    The diamond drilling to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2007 will
concentrate on Zones C, D and E (see News Release dated August 28, 2007), the
analytical results for which have been previously released.

    B. EXPLORATION UPDATES

    1. Kirtoge Zone

    A total of 21 diamond drill holes ("DDH") for a total of 2,810 metres
("m") have been completed to test a zone (approximately 250 m long and up to
69 m wide) of oxide gold mineralization exposed in a series of trenches (see
News Release dated December 16, 2004). The Kirtoge zone is located
approximately 15 kilometres ("kms") northeast of the Uzboy gold deposit. The
diamond drilling intersected a series of sheared, altered and pyritic,
andesite and volcanic-clastic sediments. Analytical results for the recently
completed diamond drilling will be reported on receipt thereof.

    2. Aygabak Zone

    This zone is located approximately seven kms southwest of the Uzboy gold
deposit. Trenching (3,858 m in 14 trenches) and Reverse Air Blast ("RAB")
drilling (1,994 m along 14 profiles) has been completed over an area that is
approximately 500 m long and up to 200 m wide. Analytical results for the
trenching and RAB drilling completed in 2007 are pending. The Aygabak zone is
underlain by a series of andesite, silicified limestone, secondary quartzite
(possibly rhyolite) that have been intruded by granodiorite. Historical
exploration information (1,000 m long lead (Pb) in soil geochemical anomaly)
for this zone collected prior to 1991 suggests the potential for both gold and
base metal mineralization. The historical exploration information has not been
verified by Alhambra.

    C. UZBOY GOLD DEPOSIT - DIAMOND DRILL RESULTS

    The results for 10 additional DDH completed on the Uzboy gold deposit are
being announced, the locations of which are shown in Figure 1 at the following
link: http://files.newswire.ca/483/AlhambraUzboyDrillMap.doc. The weighted
average grades of the mineralized intervals in the 10 drill holes shown in
Table 1 are based on atomic absorption analysis and a 0.2 g/t cutoff.
    Mr. Elmer Stewart, President and COO of Alhambra stated, "The diamond
drilling has been successful in extending the mineralized zone down dip and
along strike to the southwest on the West Zone and has intersected a
significant zone of oxide and sulphide gold mineralization in the Central Zone
of the Uzboy gold deposit. Additional diamond drilling on both the West and
Central zones is warranted."

    a) West Zone

    The objective of the current drilling was to test the down dip extension
of previously reported mineralized intervals on Profiles 57 and 69.
    DDH 692 and 693 were drilled to test the down dip extension of the gold
mineralization intersected in DDH 691. Both holes intersected broad intervals
of lower-grade gold mineralization down dip of the mineralized intervals
reported previously in DDH 691. Although the apparent thickness of the
mineralized intervals is significant, the grade of the mineralization appears
to be weakening to the southwest.
    DDH 574 and 575 were completed to test the down dip extension of the gold
 mineralization previously reported in DDH 573 (see News Release dated
September 9, 2007). DDH 574 intersected a significant interval of gold
mineralization including an interval (uncut and not corrected to true width)
of 22.0 g/t gold over 1.0 m approximately 40 m below and down dip of the zone
of gold mineralization previously reported in DDH 573. DDH 575 intersected the
down dip extension of the mineralized intervals intersected in DDH 574. The
drilling to date suggests that the mineralization may be pinching out at depth
on this section.

    b) Central Zone

    The Central zone is located approximately 50 m east of the West zone of
the Uzboy gold deposit (see Figure 1 at the following link:
http://files.newswire.ca/483/AlhambraUzboyDrillMap.doc). A total of six
diamond drill holes (see Table 1) were completed to test the depth extent of
oxide gold mineralization exposed in trenches completed in 2002 (see News
Release dated December 2, 2002). Significant gold mineralization has been
intersected in five drill holes over a horizontal distance of 160 m and to a
depth of 120 m below surface. DDH 3712 is interpreted to have been collared
too far to the southeast and missed the mineralized zone. The gold
mineralization in the Central zone strikes northeast and dips steeply
(75 degrees) to the northwest. The gold mineralization in the Central zone is
hosted in pyritic and quartz-sericite altered andesite. Additional diamond
drilling will be required to define the full extent of the oxide and sulphide
gold mineralization in this zone.

    Diamond Drilling and Sampling Procedures

    Diamond drilling is completed using a 76 mm diameter core barrel. Core
recovery is estimated to be greater than 97%. After cutting with a diamond
saw, one half of the core is collected for sample preparation and analysis and
the other half is retained for future reference. Sample intervals were
selected based on lithologies and intensity of alteration. The sample interval
and sample weight averaged one-meter and 2.0 kilograms respectively. Sample
preparation was completed by Chemical and Analytical Laboratory Quartz LLP
located in Stepnogorsk, Kazakhstan using the following procedure: core samples
were pulverized in a jaw crusher to minus 1mm, mixed and split into two
0.75 kilogram sub-samples. One sub-sample is ground to -200 mesh and the other
sub-sample is retained for reference purposes. A 10 gram sample of the -200
mesh material is used for atomic absorption analysis and the balance is
retained for fire assaying and reference purposes. Chemical and Analytical
Laboratory Quartz is independent of Alhambra and is certified in the Republic
of Kazakhstan but does not have an International Standard Organization ("ISO")
rating.

    Quality Control

    Alhambra follows a rigorous Quality Assurance/Quality Control program
consisting of inserting standards, blanks and duplicates into the sample
stream submitted to the laboratory for analysis.
    Elmer B. Stewart, MSc. P. Geol., President of Alhambra, is the Company's
nominated Qualified Person responsible for monitoring the supervision and
quality control of the programs completed on the Uzboy property. Mr. Stewart
has reviewed and verified the technical information contained in this news
