MONTREAL, June 5 /CNW Telbec/ - COGIR Real Estate, responsible for the
management of the office tower located at 700 de La Gauchetière West and
co-manager with Banque Nationale, of the underground galleries linking the two
buildings respectively located at 600 and 700 de La Gauchetière, is still
proceeding to refurbish the underground levels A to F, initiated around 2 a.m.
last night following the inundation caused by the rupture of the private
8-inch water main conduct feeding the complex.
The leak has rapidly been stopped and the cleaning and drying of the
premises will continue throughout the weekend. This work is not posing any
issues as the health and safety of people on the site.
Unless specific indication to the contrary, the 3 000 employees of the
various companies operating in the location should be back at work effective
6:30 a.m. Monday. However, the levels A and B of the commercial concourse will
remain closed until completion of the reconstruction work presently estimated
at 15 days or so. Parking levels C to F could reopen on Monday.
