Turks & Caicos Sporting Club at Ambergris Cay donates $25,000 to the Hurricane
Ike Disaster Relief Trust, a charitable trust established to assist residents
in the islands of Grand Turk, Salt Cay, South Caicos, North Caicos, and Middle
Caicos whose homes have been destroyed or damaged by Hurricane Ike.
After the treachery of Hurricanes Hannah and Ike, many parts of the Turks
& Caicos Islands were left in devastation. With the assistance of Hurricane
Ike Disaster Relief Trust, monetary donations and volunteers have helped the
pace of the rebuilding process.
"We all have endured the same, a natural disaster, Hurricane Ike," states
Sandy Herholdt, General Manager, Turks & Caicos Sporting Club at Ambergris
Cay. "We are extremely grateful for having emerged from this storm with only a
few scratches and bruises and feel it is only appropriate in return to give
something meaningful back to our communities. Disasters change lives. The
amazing lesson is, we can too."
As an active member of the Turks & Caicos Community, Ambergris Cay takes
great pride in supporting the relief efforts. Turks & Caicos Sporting Club at
Ambergris Cay contributed $25,000 to aid in the Hurricane Relief Trust's
efforts. Over the last several weeks, The Sporting Club has also provided
power generators, ice and coolers, and relief flights on Sporting Club planes.

everything in our power to get this community back to its natural beauty,"
