- Conference quarter-final playoff audience up 42% compared to last year

TORONTO, April 29 /CNW/ - TSN's live coverage of the First Round of the
2009 STANLEY CUP(R) PLAYOFFS a delivered record audience, as fans tuned in to
four exciting series during the Conference quarter-finals.
Preliminary overnight data confirms TSN's First Round playoff coverage
attracted a national average audience of 567,000 viewers, marking a 42%
increase compared to last year (399,000). The audience surpassed TSN's
previous high of 440,000 viewers achieved during the First Round of the 1992
STANLEY CUP(R) PLAYOFFS, making it the most successful Conference
quarter-finals ever on TSN.
TSN's coverage of the Conference quarter-finals featured the Chicago
Blackhawks defeating the Calgary Flames in six games, and both the
Washington/NY Rangers series and New Jersey/Carolina series going to a pivotal
Game 7, with the Capitals and Hurricanes moving on to the Second Round. TSN
also featured the defending Stanley Cup(R) Champion Detroit Red Wings sweeping
the Columbus Blue Jackets in four games.

coverage of all games from the Eastern Conference semifinal series featuring
Boston vs. Carolina and the Western Conference semifinal series featuring
