TSN and TSN2 Announce Most Extensive NBA Broadcast Schedule Ever for 2009-10 Season

    TORONTO, Sept. 3 /CNW/ - With more Toronto Raptors and NBA games than
ever before, the ball is in TSN and TSN2's court all season long. The networks
today unveiled their most extensive NBA broadcast schedule ever with a total
of 80 games. TSN and TSN2 continue to be the "official broadcaster of the
Toronto Raptors" with 50 games - more than any other Canadian broadcaster.
    In addition to the Raptors broadcasts, TSN and TSN2 will broadcast 30
other NBA regular season games along with complete coverage of the NBA
All-Star Weekend. During the NBA Playoffs, TSN and TSN2 will have a minimum of
17 games including Raptors games throughout the post-season and exclusive
Canadian coverage of the NBA Finals. All games are available in High
Definition.

    Toronto Raptors Coverage
    ------------------------
    
    TSN and TSN2 are once again the official broadcasters of the Toronto
Raptors. This season, the networks will deliver 50 Toronto Raptors games -
more than any other broadcaster. TSN is scheduled to air 23 games and TSN2
will feature 27 games. Toronto Raptors coverage gets underway on Wednesday,
Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. ET on TSN2 when reigning NBA MVP LeBron James leads
Shaquille O'Neal and the rest of the Cleveland Cavaliers to Air Canada Centre
to take on Chris Bosh and the new-look Raptors.
    With Chris Bosh and Jose Calderon anchoring a revamped Raptors roster
that includes newly-acquired Hedo Turkoglu, the Toronto Raptors will be one of
the teams to watch in the NBA this season. Highlights of the 50-game Raptors
broadcast schedule include 36 Eastern Conference match-ups with 14 of the
games against Atlantic Division rivals (see broadcast schedule below).

    -   A match-up against Kobe Bryant and the 2009 NBA Champion Los Angeles
        Lakers on March 9 on TSN
    -   Four games featuring NBA MVP LeBron James and the Cleveland

        Allen and the 2009 Atlantic Division Champion Boston Celtics
    -   A game against Canadian superstar Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns on
        Nov. 15 on TSN2

    TSN's All-Star NBA Broadcast Team

    Raptors game analyst Jack "The Coach" Armstrong joins play-by-play
announcer Matt Devlin courtside for another year of Raptors basketball. TSN's
Rod Black and Leo Rautins will be on-site at Air Canada Centre to host TSN's
Raptors home games.

    More NBA Action
    ---------------
    
    Basketball action doesn't stop with the Raptors. This season, TSN and
TSN2 will deliver 30 additional NBA games to Canadian basketball fans
featuring U.S.-based teams.
    The full NBA line-up will feature marquee match-ups throughout the season
including many of the NBA's brightest stars. In addition to the slate of
Raptors games, TSN and TSN2 will broadcast 13 contests featuring NBA MVP
LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, seven games featuring Dwight Howard,
Vince Carter and the 2009 Eastern Conference Champion Orlando Magic, six
Boston Celtics games, four match-ups featuring Victoria's Steve Nash and the
Phoenix Suns, and three contests with the reigning NBA Champion Los Angeles
Lakers. Coverage begins on NBA Opening Day, Oct. 27, with Boston @ Cleveland
at 7:30 p.m. ET on TSN2.

    
    NBA Playoffs
    ------------
    
    When the games matter the most, TSN and TSN2 will deliver Canadian hoops
fans non-stop NBA playoff action. The networks will have exclusive Canadian
coverage of the NBA Finals along with extensive coverage of the Raptors
throughout the post-season. The networks will air a minimum of 17 games
throughout the duration of the NBA Playoffs including key match-ups from both
the Eastern and Western Conferences.

    
    NBA All-Star Weekend
    --------------------
    
    TSN and TSN2 will give fans exclusive coverage of all of the action
during NBA All-Star weekend from Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas from
February 12-14. TSN will carry the All-Star game live and TSN2 will have
coverage of all of the fun from All-Star Saturday Night with the electrifying
Slam-Dunk Contest and the Three-Point Shootout.

    TSN has been televising Raptors basketball since the 1997-98 season.
