Tripharbour.ca launches major new advertising campaign in GTA



    "Find the cruise you've always wanted" starts January 5

    TORONTO, Jan. 5 /CNW/ - Tripharbour.ca, the web's first combined cruise
community, planning and buying site is launching a major new advertising
campaign in the Greater Toronto Area. The campaign includes a heavy presence
in outdoor billboards, radio advertising and online search and display ads
with the tag line "Find the cruise you've always wanted."
    The campaign is designed to create greater awareness of Tripharbour.ca
and the freedom it gives travel consumers to connect, plan and buy the cruise
they've always wanted over the web. Founded in Toronto by travel and online
innovator Stuart MacDonald in 2008, Tripharbour.ca allows travel consumers to
make more informed decisions about choosing a cruise by merging e-commerce
with e-community.
    "I think the timing is perfect for a campaign like ours," says Stuart
MacDonald, President and CEO of Tripharbour.ca. "Canadians still love to take
vacations, and cruising represents one of the best value-for-dollar options
they can choose from, especially with all the great deals being offered by
cruise lines in 2009. And the New Year is the beginning of the biggest cruise
buying season of the year, a period called 'wave season' which runs from early
January to the middle of February."
    MacDonald also believes it's a great time to be purchasing advertising as
the market is hungry for business, given that some companies have cut back on
their marketing budgets.
    "We're getting some great incentives to purchase advertising like bonus
air time and billboards, the likes of which I've not seen offered in a very
long time," says MacDonald. "It's a very attractive time to be launching a
major campaign."
    The Tripharbour.ca advertising campaign starts on Monday, January 5 and
runs until the end of February. The campaign will include advertising on
nearly 200 billboards in the Greater Toronto Area, as well as 30 second radio
spots developed and produced by Pirate Toronto, and extensive search and
display ads on leading online sites.
