KELOWNA, BC, April 10 /CNW/ - Trigon Uranium Corp. ("Trigon" or the
"Company") (TSX-V:TEL) today announced its 2007 program for its 12,000 acre
Wray Mesa uranium property located in the La Sal uranium district of South
East Utah. The aim of the program is to quickly prioritize areas of the
property for drilling later this year. The exploration targets, which are in
close proximity to Denison Mines' producing Pandora Mine, are hosted by the
Salt Wash and Brushy Basin members of the Jurassic Morrison formation. The
Salt Wash sandstones of the United States have produced more than 85 million
pounds of U(3)O(8).
The program will start during May and will include radon surveys,
radiometric surveying, geochemical sampling, and geological mapping. The
acquired data will result in an optimal drilling program focusing on the
highest priority areas. The program will be centered around the known uranium
mineralization on the property. In 1969, Bokum Corporation ("Bokum") first
discovered uranium on the Wray Mesa property. Bokum intersected uranium
grading 0.13 to 0.15% in several holes close to the centre of the property.
The mineralization was encountered at an average depth of 230 ft below
The La Sal district is located approximately 30 miles southwest of Moab
in South East Utah. Significant uranium deposits occur in the sandstones of
the Salt Wash and Brushy Basin members of the Morrison Formation. Most of the
district's known uranium deposits were discovered in the 1960s and 1970s. To
date, the La Sal district has produced uranium at an average grade of 0.32%,
the highest average grade of any of the Salt Wash uranium districts. The Wray
Mesa property is located with its western boundary situated within 1/2 mile of
the Pandora uranium mine, the only active mine in the district where Denison
Mines Corp. commenced mining operations in 2006. To the east the Property is
adjoined by a property which hosts three known uranium deposits. Trigon
entered into a Lease and Option Agreement to acquire the Wray Mesa property
from Future Energy LLC, a Utah company in December 2006.
