MONTREAL, Jan. 1 /CNW/ - VIA Rail Canada wishes to advise travellers that
its Montréal-Québec City train services, which had been replaced by
alternative transportation today, will be back to normal tomorrow morning.
The interruption in service was due to a 30-car Canadian National (CN)
freight train derailment near Villeroy, Québec earlier today, which blocked
the tracks normally used by VIA's passenger trains between Montréal-Québec
City and Montréal-Halifax.
VIA apologies for any inconvenience caused by this disruption.
For more information on train schedules, or to book a trip, customers can
visit VIA's secure Web site at viarail.ca. Passengers also can book their
tickets by calling 1 888 VIA-RAIL (1 888 842-7245), or 1 800 268-9503 (TTY for
the hearing impaired).
