Public & media invited to test drive a hybrid
OTTAWA, June 4 /CNW/ - It is Environment Week, so starting on Wednesday,
June 6, Ottawa drivers can get behind the wheel of a hybrid vehicle as the
Toyota Hybrid Tour launches nationally. The first stop on the cross-country
summer tour kicks off at Sparks Street Mall and runs until June 9.
The tour will feature an interactive information and display centre as
well as recent models of Toyota hybrid vehicles such as the Prius, Highlander
Hybrid and Camry Hybrid. The program will allow consumers to learn how hybrid
vehicles work, and to understand the environmental benefits of hybrids and
eco-friendly technologies. Consumers will also be invited to test drive a
Toyota hybrid vehicle.
In addition to the fleet of hybrids available for test drives, the next
generation 2008 Highlander Hybrid will be on display. Launched at the Chicago
Auto Show earlier this year, the Highlander Hybrid prototype will make its
first Canadian appearance at this event.
The tour will visit 12 malls across the country over the summer,
including Ottawa, Quebec City, Laval, Montreal, Mississauga, Vaughan, Halifax,
Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Burnaby and Richmond. For more information, visit
