"This year's spike in the cost of gasoline has Canadians reassessing
their transportation needs, and they're planning ahead with quality built,
fuel efficient vehicles from Toyota," said Warren Orton, Director at TCI.
"Toyota has the most fuel-efficient car fleet(*) in the country, but we are also
pleased to offer Canadians options like the new 2009 RAV4 and Tacoma 4x4,
which include models with a more powerful and more efficient 4-cylinder
engine. Canadian drivers are looking for the right vehicle at the right time,
and Toyota offers plenty of great choices."
"Lexus proved itself for a second-straight year when a Lexus GS 450h
hybrid luxury sedan took on one of the toughest rally events in the world, the
2,200-kilometre TARGA Newfoundland, and finished sixth overall. What's more,
the GS 450h was the first vehicle in TARGA Newfoundland's history to cross the
finish line in electric-only mode." said Tony Wearing, Director of Lexus in
Canada. "Lexus offers the world's only collection of luxury hybrids, from the
rally-proven GS 450h, to the elegant RX 400h SUV to the flagship luxury LS
600h L sedan. These vehicles give Canadians a no-compromise approach to
environmental responsibility."
