Toronto Raptors' Parker and Moon seek teammates for Direct Energy Driveway Challenge

Direct Energy contest has popular Raptors players playing basketball in
    lucky fan's driveway

TORONTO, Jan. 4 /CNW/ - Just about every kid who's ever dribbled a
basketball in the driveway has dreamed of putting a move on an NBA player.
Direct Energy, one of North America's largest energy and energy-related
service providers, and the Toronto Raptors are going to make that dream a
reality for one lucky winner and 10 friends, who will get to test their hoop
skills against two of the Raptors' starting players in the Direct Energy
Driveway Challenge.
The contest winner receives a visit from Raptors' Anthony Parker and
Jamario Moon for a driveway shoot-around. The team will set up a basketball
court at the winner's house, provide jerseys and snacks and beverages for
family and friends.
"Growing up I would have loved to have an opportunity to play a casual
basketball game against Dr. J," said Parker. "The Direct Energy Driveway
Challenge is a cool promotion and Jamario and I are looking forward to playing
against the contest winner and their friends."
Fans can register to win at www.raptors.com/directenergycontest between
January 4 and March 18, 2008. The Direct Energy Driveway Challenge includes an
early bird draw, which takes place on February 4, where one of six
semi-finalists will win a pair of lower bowl tickets to the Raptors vs.
Charlotte Bobcats game on Friday, April 4 at Air Canada Centre. During that
game all six semi-finalists will compete on court for the grand prize.
"Direct Energy is looking forward to being part of making the dream of
playing with NBA players a reality for a lucky Raptors fan through the
Direct Energy Driveway Challenge," said Bob Huggard, President, Home and
Business Services, Direct Energy. "We are excited that Anthony and Jamario
have agreed to participate in such a fun contest and give the winning kids
some priceless memories. Anthony and Jamario's participation is a testament to
how they approach the game and their commitment to the Greater Toronto Area
community."
No purchase is necessary. The Direct Energy Driveway Challenge is open to
Ontario residents 18 years of age and older who live within a 75-mile radius
of Air Canada Centre. Only one entry per postal address will be accepted.
