Ticketmaster's TicketExchange Resale Service Expands for Events in British Columbia

Pacific Coliseum, General Motors Place and BC Place Among First Canadian
Event Providers to Offer Authorized Resale Service to Consumers

BRITISH COLUMBIA, Nov. 1 /CNW/ -- Ticketmaster, the world's leading
ticketing company, has launched its TicketExchange resale service for events
in Vancouver at the Pacific Coliseum at the PNE, General Motors Place and BC
Place. The three Vancouver venues and the BC Lions football team are among 26
event providers in Canada that have deployed Ticketmaster's secure venue-
authorized resale service to enable their ticket holders to resell tickets to
other fans.
Here's how it works: Fans who purchase tickets through Ticketmaster to
events at these venues and find that they are unable to use their tickets may
visit the TicketExchange area of Ticketmaster.ca and post their tickets for
sale to other fans. Fans may visit TicketExchange to peruse and purchase
tickets offered for sale by other fans. The TicketExchange transaction is
entirely automated and processed by Ticketmaster, the recognized and trusted
brand for event ticketing. Fans who purchase tickets through TicketExchange
receive a brand new ticket with a new and unique barcode identifying the buyer
as the new owner of that ticket. Fans who purchase tickets through
Ticketmaster by phone or online or through TicketExchange may select to have
their tickets delivered electronically via TicketFast(R), Ticketmaster's
online ticket delivery service.
"We initially launched TicketExchange for our Maroon 5 concert on
November 3 and we have since expanded the service for all events," said Laura
Balance, Spokesperson, Pacific National Exhibition. "TicketExchange is an
important part of our ongoing commitment to provide the highest quality
services to our guests. Fans that purchase tickets through TicketExchange can
rest assured that they are purchasing a valid ticket to see the show."
"TicketExchange has been in place for the majority of Maroon 5's US tour
dates and we're very pleased to be able to offer the service to the band's
fans in Canada as well," Maroon 5's manager, Jordan Feldstein of Career Artist
Management. "Maroon 5 wants to ensure that their fans have fair and
convenient access to tickets and this includes providing them with an
authorized site to buy and resell tickets and avoid potentially fraudulent
resellers."
"Fans deserve a safe and legitimate environment to resell their tickets,"
said Tom Worrall, COO, Ticketmaster Canada. "Venues that enable
TicketExchange are providing their event-goers with greater protection,
choice, flexibility and value. Fans benefit from access to venue-authorized
resale and event providers benefit from the ability to connect directly with
their guests while protecting them from fraud and deception."
"We are extremely pleased to increase the level of service we offer to
our valued season ticket holders and all BC Lions fans," said George Chayka,
Vice President, Business Operations, BC Lions. "TicketExchange provides our
Season Ticket Holders with an authorized site to resell their tickets and for
fans to avoid potentially fraudulent resellers when purchasing tickets. With
Ticketmaster we know that our fans receive the very best ticketing technology
and service available."
