This Winter Step into HGTV's Green Space

    - Three New Series and a New Season of Living with Ed Begin Sun., Jan. 6

    PROGRAMMING NOTICE

TORONTO, Nov. 20 /CNW/ - HGTV is excited to launch its winter schedule
with Green Space, a new two-hour programming block that features three new
family-friendly entertainment series dedicated to green living. With Green
Space, viewers will find inspiration and up-to-date ways to go that extra
'green' mile as well as cost-saving ideas that help the environment. HGTV will
continue to build momentum with new Canadian original and acquired
earth-friendly series in the spring, just in time for Earth Day celebrations.
Beginning Sunday, January 6 at 6pm ET/8pm PT, HGTV's new winter schedule
includes: a new season of Living With Ed, featuring Ed Begley Jr. in his
valiant effort to live green; Eco-House Challenge, a series that follows two
Australian families as they try to radically reduce consumption and learn to
live sustainably with the help of Tanya Ha, the families' Eco Coach; No Waste
Like Home takes an inside look at Britain's most wasteful families as they
make a radical shift in living; and finally, Eco-Eden, hosted by Matt James,
(The City Gardener, Urban Outsiders) a series that transforms Britain's urban
gardens.

    New Series:
    -----------
    Eco-House Challenge (North American Premiere)
Sundays at 6:30pm ET/8:30pm PT beginning January 6

In Eco-House Challenge, energy, water, transport and waste removal are
shut down until further notice for two very different families: the Edwards, a
large, frugal family, and the Shepherds, a small, affluent family. Over
several weeks, while still living their normal lives, both families must
radically reduce consumption and learn to live sustainably with help from
Tanya Ha, the families' Eco Coach. If they can pass the Eco-House Challenge
and help save the planet, so can we.

No Waste Like Home (North American Premiere)
Sundays at 7pm ET/9pm PT beginning January 6

Britain's most wasteful families are about to face the shock of a
lifetime and a radical shift in living as they follow Penney Poyzer's advice
on how to cut down on waste and save money. The goal is to make a house more
efficient and a family more eco-friendly by giving tips on how to produce less
waste and tread lighter on the planet.

    Eco-Eden (North American Premiere)
Sundays at 7:30pm ET/9:30pm PT beginning January 6

Matt James (The City Gardener, Urban Outsiders) is on a mission - to make
our green spaces more environmentally friendly and to transform Britain's
urban areas. In this new show, Matt revitalizes gardens that are seriously
lacking green credentials and turns them into 'eco edens'. Armed with props
and plants to inspire eco-passion amongst local gardeners, Matt investigates
current environmental issues and offers tips and practical solutions to help
viewers do their part to help the environment.

    New Episodes of Returning Series:
    ---------------------------------
    Living with Ed (Canadian Premiere)
Sundays at 6pm ET/8pm PT beginning January 6

Ed Begley Jr., perhaps the greenest man in Hollywood, rides his electric
car to the Academy Awards and powers his home with the help of the sun and his
stationary bike. But Living with Ed and his environmentalist passion isn't
always easy for wife Rachelle. This unscripted docu-soap captures the
lifestyle of a diehard activist who puts his money and his time where his
mouth is.
