MONTREAL, Feb. 13 /CNW Telbec/ - "I do" - two of the sweetest words
Geneviève Dussault wanted to hear for a long time. Well she heard them, along
with over 40,000 Q92 listeners earlier today at the Station 26 fire station.
Her main man, Bertrand Savoie, was Ambushed by his new bride.
Ambush Wedding, an original Corus radio concept, was launched over three
weeks ago on Montreal's Q92, inviting its female listeners to write in with
various reasons they wanted to get married with their man.
"When we first heard of the Ambush Wedding we thought it may be a bit
over the top," explains Mark Dickie, Q92's General Manager. "But we are so
glad we decided to introduce this event as it is a huge success with our
audience. Over 450 female listeners took the time to write about their man. We
were also able to secure wonderful sponsors to make this into a special event
for both the bride and groom," continues Mark Dickie.
Q92's morning man Aaron Rand along with Ken Connors and the Q92
promotional team greeted the "groom to be" at his place of work earlier today
and his bride asked the question "will you marry me?". The wedding will take
place in an Old Montreal hotel. The happy couple will be honeymooning in a
couple of weeks.
