The Woodstock of the Arab world is at Montreal's doorstep!

    - First ever Araband Live event to take place this summer -

MONTREAL, June 20 /CNW Telbec/ - The mesmerizing sights and sounds of the
Arab world will fill the air in Montreal's Old Port this summer with the first
ever Araband Live 2007 event taking place on August 18th and 19th, 2007.
Araband Live 2007 will showcase music and cultures from up to 22 Arab
countries and will highlight superstar musicians from across the Arab world,
with special attention to local artists as well.
The event's schedule is jam-packed with legendary artists including
Algeria's Rai king Khaled, sensational Syrian star Asala, pop-oriented
Egyptian star Mohammed Mounir and well-loved performer from Iraq, Rida
Abdallah.
"I am proud to be a part of this major cultural event that will bring
together a number of Arab artists to celebrate contemporary art and music of
the Arab World. Arabic music is in the midst of becoming a popular phenomena
and this event truly captures modern day Arabic culture," says Lamine Foura,
official host of Araband Live 2007.
Earlier this year, Araband Live organizers made it possible for fans to
vote for two of their favorite female singers on their Web site and more than
30,000 votes were tabulated. Results were announced today during a press
conference in Montreal. Added to the roster of Arabic superstars performing,
will be Dina Hayek from Lebanon and Montreal's own Chantal Chamandy,
completing the schedule for the two-day celebration of Arab culture.
"Our goal with Araband Live is to create a cultural extravaganza,
showcasing the music and culture of the Middle-East and North Africa. The
event will celebrate Arab heritage and will show how we can all be brought
together under the same roof," says Waleed Malik Soliman, President of
Reignman Music.
Araband Live 2007 is the creation of ReignMan Music Inc., a newly
established Canadian music production company. In addition to musical and
dance performances that will go into the night, pavilions and kiosks will be
set up, displaying the art, food, music and culture of the Arab world. Almost
two dozen countries will be represented.
Due to changes in programming, Cheb Mami, originally scheduled to
perform, has been replaced by Rai king Khaled.

Tickets for August 18th or 19th are on-sale via Ticketpro
(www.ticketpro.ca) and passes for one or two days are also available. No
tickets will be sold at the door. ReignMan Music will be making a donation of
$25,000 to Savedarfurcanada.org. For more information, please visit
