SAINTE-ANNE-DES-MONTS, QC, Oct. 25 /CNW Telbec/ - The consultation for
the revised project of the outfitting operation with exclusive rights to be
managed by the Micmac community of Gesgapegiag in the Baldwin/Lake-Sainte-Anne
Sector started on October 24th, 2007 with the executives of the wildlife
organisations of the Gaspésie - Iles-de-la-Madeleine.
This consultation process is in response to a request made by the
Regional Wildlife Group following the filing of the initial project in January
2006. The Quebec government and the community of Gesgapegiag have also
accepted this consultation process.
These discussions will be followed by public meetings with members of the
organizations represented by the Regional Wildlife Group: the Quebec Wildlife
Federation (FQF), the Quebec Federation of ZEC Managers (FQGZ), the Quebec
Federation of Outfitters (FQF), the Quebec Atlantic Salmon Federation (FQSA),
and the Quebec Association of Independant Trappers (APTQ).
These meetings will be completed by December 31st 2007. Dates and
locations will be subsequently announced.
These consultations will be under the guidance of the Regional Wildlife
Group and the community of Gesgapegiag.
