The Port of Montreal rewarded for the quality of its cruise passenger and ship services



    MONTREAL, June 3 /CNW Telbec/ - The Port of Montreal has just won the
2008 Best Turnaround Port Operations Award from Dream World Cruise
Destinations Magazine. Eight other ports around the world also received this
distinction awarded to ports that stand out for the excellence of their
infrastructures, such as berths and the terminal or passenger handling
building, and the quality of their passenger and ship services, such as
security, customs, baggage handling, cleaning, supplying and stevedoring.
    A total of 231 ports and destinations were in competition for the
different categories of the Dream World Cruise Destinations 2008 Awards
edition.

is constantly at work to maintain high quality standards for its cruise
operations and we will continue to improve our services for the benefit of
cruise lines and passengers," stated Tony Boemi, Vice-President, Growth and

    In 2008, 39,638 cruise passengers transited through the Port of Montreal,
up 14% from the previous year.

cargo annually. In 2008, the Port of Montreal handled more than 1,473,000 TEUs
