The Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal at Rideau Hall



    OTTAWA, March 19 /CNW Telbec/ - Her Excellency the Right Honourable
Michaelle Jean, Governor General of Canada, will officially open a new art
exhibition entitled "Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal at Rideau Hall" on
Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 5:00 p.m.
    The exhibit showcases seven works from the Museum's permanent collection.
They reflect the diversity and the revival of painting in Quebec and highlight
the visions of five Quebec artists who are revisiting painting traditions in
their own way. The exhibition will remain in the Ambassador's Room at Rideau
Hall until September 30th, 2007.
    Visitors to Rideau Hall will have the chance to view this temporary
exhibition as part of the regular residence tours and art tours.

    Media Preview begins at 4 p.m.

    Media are invited to view the art works and tour the exhibit with Ms.
Josée Bélisle, curator of the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal's permanent
collection.

    The official opening of the exhibition will take place at 5:00 p.m. and
the opening remarks will be open to the media. Members of the media who wish
to attend are asked to arrive at Rideau Hall through the Princess Avenue gate.
