TORONTO, Sept. 17 /CNW/ - More viewers watched Canada's eTalk during the
Toronto International Film Festival than any other Canadian entertainment
newsmagazine, figures from BBM Nielsen Media Research confirm today. With an
average audience of 426,000 viewers over the course of the Festival, CTV's
eTalk delivered 13 per cent more total viewers than ET Canada (376,000;
Global). The story was the same in Canada's largest television market, with
hometown viewers in Toronto/Hamilton choosing eTalk over ET Canada for their
Festival coverage by 5 per cent on average during the 10 days of the festival
(Sept. 6-15). Also to note:

    - eTalk delivered the highest, single-day TIFF audience on Monday,
Sept. 10 with a total audience of 532,000 viewers.
    - eTalk's wrap-up coverage this past Friday, Sept. 14 drew 442,000
viewers, an impressive 61 per cent more total viewers than ET Canada
(274,000) and leading in every demo.
    - More Canadians watched eTalk than ET Canada's parent program, the
American Entertainment Tonight, on two occasions during the Festival.

It was a banner year for eTalk at the 2007 Toronto International Film
Festival with more exclusive partnerships, more broadcast locations, more
parties and more stars than ever before. Backed by the largest entertainment
newsroom in Canada, eTalk anchors Ben Mulroney and Tanya Kim along with
reporters Elaine "Lainey" Lui, Zain Meghji and Susie Wall delivered the most
comprehensive coverage at TIFF - while at the same time delivering exclusive
coverage to viewers of both the Canadian Idol season finale and last night's
59th Primetime Emmy Awards.

eTalk provided unprecedented access to TIFF's biggest stars including
exclusive Canadian television interviews with George Clooney and Sienna
Miller, spending the weekend with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck at the Running
the Sahara screening and after-party, and exclusive access the ONE X ONE
charity event. From the legendary eTalk Star! Schmooze party to the eTalk
Lounge at the Intercontinental Hotel and the star-studded red carpet galas,
eTalk's formidable team caught up with the likes of Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie,
Reese Witherspoon, Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Douglas, Don Cheadle, Joaquin
Phoenix, Colin Farrell, Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams and more.

eTalk dominated the city by joining forces with key TIFF partners such as
Roots, Chanel, Starbucks, Hazelton Hotel, The Four Seasons, Hello!, Variety,
UMM, Flow, Amber, Bistro 990, Brant House, Tastemakers, and Starbucks. In
addition to having a studio in the heart of Yorkville and CTV's Festival
Headquarters at 299 Queen Street West, eTalk delivered the message that no
other program can deliver widespread TIFF coverage to the degree exhibited by
Canada's most-watched entertainment program.
