MONTREAL, May 13 /CNW Telbec/ - The Montréal Science Centre will be host
to the world première of AQUA, a multisensory experience for the entire
family, starting today, through September 7, 2009.
AQUA is at the heart of the ONE DROP(TM)/Goutte de vie Foundation, an
initiative of Guy Laliberté - founder of Cirque du Soleil(R), and the
foundation objective is to raise awareness among the population at large of
the ways and means of using water in a responsible manner.
The AQUA experience
Throughout the exhibit, divided into three distinct spaces, visitors will
discover water in all its forms thus gaining an understanding of its vital
role in humanity's survival. Thanks to 360 degrees screens, music, visual
effects, and the actual water displays, visitors will live an experience in
which they will be both actors and spectators.
In making a clear statement on the vital importance of water, AQUA
challenges visitors to assume their responsibilities and commit themselves to
a cause that aims to ensure access to quality water in sufficient quantities
to all humans, today and in the future.
"Education is a vital factor in finding solutions to water-related
problems, and in this respect, the Science Center helps to stimulate visitors'
curiosity and foster their critical judgment so that they become more aware of
the practical things they can do as individuals toward solving global
problems," notes Ms. Claude Benoit, President and CEO of the Old Port of
Montreal Corporation in welcoming the exhibition AQUA to the Montreal Science
"As a sponsor of Montreal Science Centre for AQUA and a founding
corporate partner of ONE DROP(TM), we know that AQUA will play an important
role in educating audiences on the need for global solutions to the water
crisis," said Jim Little, Chief Brand and Communications Officer at RBC Royal
Bank. "Our hope is that once people have experienced AQUA, they'll not only
understand how serious the problem is, but they'll also have hope for the
