TORONTO, June 24 /CNW/ - MOBILIZEYOUTH SUMMER GET FIT! CAMP FOR YOUTH AND
TEENS, 8-16 YEARS, is an urban fitness and nutrition camp for parents
desperately seeking an alternative to the PARKS & REC closings. The camp
promotes a healthy lifestyle, builds confidence and instills self-esteem.
Set in the GTA at the COLUMBUS CENTRE, 901 Lawrence Avenue West (at
Dufferin - easy subway access), kids and teens spend six and a half hour days
in fitness, non-competitive sports, swimming, beach volleyball and
motivational talks. There are weekly hikes with the Bruce Trail Club up in
Caledon and weekly city-wide hikes including a trip to Riverdale Farmers
Market to learn about food. Lunch guidelines are provided to parents and
nutrition lunchtime exchanges give kids the tools for healthy living.
In its 4TH year, MOBILIZEYOUTH is the only multi-component after school
and weekend program for youth with weight and eating issues.
IT'S NOT ONLY ABOUT WEIGHT: Many MOBILIZEKIDS and TEENS who come to the
camp want to be fit for sports, feel good and take charge of their health.
They gain strength, stamina and a new awareness through fun motivational goal
setting sessions and games.
Everyone bonds with MOBILIZEYOUTH Phys. Ed and Kinesiology coaches who
have a sports background and a long list of certifications.
