"Kitchen face-lift contest crowns a Winner"
HAMILTON, ON, March 3 /CNW/ - Countertop Makeovers, the company that
believes in recycling by resurfacing, has chosen the winner for its Kitchen
Face-lift Contest. Andrew Monkley of the Hamilton area will receive a complete
resurfacing of his kitchen cabinets and countertops, making his kitchen look
brand new. "We're ecstatic that we won. My family and I have wanted to do
something with our kitchen for some time now and totally remodelling it could
easily take two to four weeks, with young children, that wouldn't have been
possible. This way, we don't have to undergo such a lengthy project," said
Through an innovative system, Countertop Makeovers will use a solution
that's sprayed on, turning Monkley's dated and worn kitchen cabinets and
countertops into something that's durable and beautiful. Through resurfacing
there is no need to rip out his old cabinets and countertops, throwing them
out, dumping more waste into the city's already overflowing landfills.
According to Jennifer O'Keefe, one of the Directors and part owner of
Countertop Makeovers, getting a 'green' kitchen is much easier and less
expensive than many people think. "We can update the look of any cabinet or
countertop including those in bathrooms as well. Even if there are scratches,
or burns, with the system we use, covering those minor damages is not a
problem, saving Monkley and his family, thousands of dollars."
With a five-year warranty, Countertop Makeovers is the only company in
South Western Ontario that offers countertop resurfacing and can refinish such
materials as laminate, formica, veneers, ceramic tile, wood and Arborite.
Monkley's kitchen cabinets and countertops are 50-years old and though he's
tried to update his kitchen on his own, winning this contest is a major
relief. "The facelift option is definitely doable when it comes to the time
frame, it's practical compared to the cost of remodelling a kitchen, and
environmentally friendly since we're a family that follows the three R's:
Reuse, Reduce and Recycle," said Monkley.
The Kitchen Face-lift Contest began last month to encourage people to
think differently when it comes to recycling. "The water-based solution we use
is more eco-friendly and is great for people who are especially sensitive or
who have allergies," said O'Keefe. "We're excited to give Mr. Monkley and his
family, something that will last and he gets to choose from over 68 of the
decorator colours we offer, giving his kitchen the updated look he wants."
