TORONTO, Sept. 10 /CNW/ - The Globe and Mail newspaper has joined the
Canada's Top 100 Employers project as an editorial print partner. The Globe
will publish a special editorial supplement on Friday, October 9th, announcing
the 2010 winners of the national competition.
"We are tremendously pleased to have the Globe and Mail as our newspaper
partner on the national Canada's Top 100 Employers competition," said Tony
Meehan, Publisher of Canada's Top 100 Employers. "This year marks the 10th
anniversary of the Canada's Top 100 Employers project and we are delighted to
have a partner of the Globe's stature joining us this year."
"We're proud to be publishing Canada's Top 100 Employers and celebrating
leadership and excellence within the Canadian business community," says
Phillip Crawley, Publisher and CEO of The Globe and Mail.
Published annually since 2000, the Canada's Top 100 Employers project is
a national competition to determine which employers lead their industries in
offering exceptional workplaces for their employees. Employers are evaluated
by the Top 100 editors using eight criteria, which have remained consistent
since the competition's inception: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere
& Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off;
(5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills
Development; and (8) Community Involvement. Employers are compared to other
organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive
and forward-thinking programs.
Under the agreement announced today, the editors of the Canada's Top 100
Employers project will continue to manage the competition and select the
winners. The Globe and Mail's editorial team, in its special editorial
supplement, add their own insight and analysis, along with the winners.
