The First Nations commemorate Donald Marshall Jr.

WENDAKE, QC, Aug. 6 /CNW Telbec/ - AFNQL Chief, Ghislain Picard, wishes to mark the death of Mr. Donald Marshall Jr. and offer on behalf of the AFNQL and on his own personal behalf his most sincere condolences to the family and to the Mi'kmaq Nation, to which Donald Marshall Jr. belonged.

"Over the course of his brief life, Donald Marshall Jr. made a tremendous contribution in helping advance the cause of justice for the First Nations" stated Chief Picard.

As Chief Picard reminisced, "All the members of the First Nations have a debt of gratitude towards Donald Marshall Jr., who never tolerated injustice, which he always fought well beyond the call of duty."

The Assembly of First Nations of Quebec and Labrador is the regional body that represents the First Nation Chiefs of Quebec and Labrador.
