OTTAWA, Jan. 8 /CNW Telbec/ - The Hon. Thomas Hockin, Chair of the Expert
Panel on Securities Regulation will release the Panel's Final Report and
Recommendations during a speech to the Vancouver Board of Trade.

Mr. Hockin will speak at about 12:30 pm. (PST) The speech will be
followed by a media availability in the Oxford Room, Third floor, Hyatt
Regency at 3:00 p.m. (PT)
As, well, an embargoed briefing for media will be held in Ottawa prior to
the release of the Final Report and Recommendations of the Expert Panel on
Securities Regulation, on Monday, January 12 2009.
The embargoed briefing will take place in the Centennial Room, Government
Conference Centre, 2 Rideau Street, Ottawa, from 1:30 p.m. (ET) until the
Chair presents the Final Report and Recommendations at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Once the embargoed briefing has started, no one will be allowed to leave
the room or contact their offices until the embargo is lifted.
Journalists will be required to sign an undertaking to respect the
release arrangements and not to remove, release or communicate documents,
materials or information, or other records of any nature whatsoever, to anyone
in any manner.
Wireless communication devices such as cellular phones, BlackBerries,
personal digital assistants, two-way radios and/or any other removable
wireless communication devices including modems, air cards and wireless
microphones will not be allowed in the reading area.
Panel representatives will be on hand to provide on-the-record comment.
Panel Secretariat officials will be on hand to provide technical information
on a background, not for attribution basis only. Audio recording or video
recording with audio of these technical briefings for the purpose of broadcast
is strictly prohibited.
Entry is restricted to accredited journalists. Pre-registration is
