TORONTO, April 21 /CNW/ - The College of Physicians and Surgeons of
Ontario will release the results of its 2007 registration statistics and
annual survey of Ontario physicians on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 8:00 a.m.
More than 27,000 physicians or 96 per cent of the physician population in
Ontario responded to the 2007 survey making this the largest known survey of
physicians in Canada.
2007 highlights include:
- Highest number of licenses issued to doctors in College history, up
11% from 2006 record-breaking total.
- For the fourth straight year, more licenses issued to international
medical graduates than Ontario graduates.
- Primary care physicians are increasingly working in group practice
and are more likely to accept new patients.
