MONTREAL, Aug. 17 /CNW Telbec/ - At the close of the Omnium de Montréal
Desjardins, Casino de Montréal director of public relations Richard Morency
confirmed to Julien Trudeau and Kevin Senécal the purses that cover their
registration costs at the Canadian Professional Golf Tour qualifying round
that will take place September 15-18, 2008 at Ontario's Royal Ashburn Golf
Mr. Morency also announced that Yohann Benson, who presented the best
score for a Québec player during the Omnium this week-end, and Kevin
Fortin-Simard that their registration costs for the American PGA qualification
tournament will be covered by the Elan program since both are already
qualified for the Canadian Tour.
A high profile presence
During the Open, the Casino de Montréal's Elan zone was "news central"
for key information on Québec golfers in the competition. Fans were able to
leave messages for their favorite players and even meet them during
autographing sessions. It was a "first" that will no doubt return next year.
The Casino de Montréal understands the beneficial effects that
international success of our own athletes can have on local sports. With the
original and unique L'Elan concept, that is sure to grow in the future, the
Casino makes a real contribution to the development of golf in Québec. Local
players now have a helping hand to assist them in carving out a place for
themselves on the international tour and adding reach to their swing!
