The Brick® Launches Children's Miracle Network Annual Campaign

Targets to Raise over $1M for Children's Hospitals Across Canada

EDMONTON, Sept. 1, 2016 /CNW/ - Children's Miracle Network is thrilled to announce the start of its new fundraising campaign with The Brick with a target to raise in excess of $1M.   The 2016/2017 target builds on the already more than $1.6M raised in partnership with The Brick since The Brick started its corporate sponsorship with Children's Miracle Network in 2014.

"Our great partnership with The Brick demonstrates what is possible when an organization embraces a cause, and focuses the passion of its employees and its customers to make a real difference", commented Adam Starkman, Chief Development Officer, Canada with Children's Miracle Network.  "We are incredibly grateful for the partnership that we have with The Brick, its committed employees, and generous customers. The impact of the funds raised can be seen in each of our member hospitals, helping to ensure that they are able to provide the best possible care to kids and their families."

The funds were primarily raised through the sale of Brickley bears, stuffed versions of The Brick's mascot Brickley Bear and donations received in store.   A new version of Brickley Bear will be introduced and, for the first time, a companion bear, Brickley's sister Brick-Lea, will also be available.  The Brick also has committed to contribute $100,000 towards the 2016/2017 Campaign.  The funds raised will return to the communities in which they were raised by supporting the local children's hospitals.
