The ABCs of "Generation Y" - And why you need to learn them: Latest PROFIT/BMO Business Coach podcast

    TORONTO, Aug. 26 /CNW/ - They're much more tech-savvy than baby boomers,
more single-mindedly ambitious than Generation X and some say they possess a
sense of entitlement. But there is much more to learn about the "Echo
Boomers," who will soon play an integral role in every small business's
success. With a tight labour market that is only going to get tighter as the
throngs of baby boomers slide into retirement and are replaced by this smaller
group, it's important for managers and entrepreneurs to understand what makes
"Generation Y" tick and how they can attract, motivate and retain these
individuals.

Join Ian Portsmouth, editor of PROFIT Magazine, and Dave Aplin, CEO of
David Aplin Recruiting in Edmonton, as they discuss:

    - What is Gen Y and why do entrepreneurs need to learn about it?
    - What are the HR-relevant characteristics of these individuals?
    - What made them the way they are (education, technology, upbringing)?
    - Do today's employers know what Gen Y is looking for?
    - Will Gen Y's wants change over time? Will a few years in the workforce
tell them that advancement isn't something you can demand?
