TELUS launches technology centre for local businesses: Arlene Dickinson and colleagues celebrate technology for success at the Toronto Board of Trade

    TORONTO, Oct. 9 /CNW/ - TELUS today announced the launch of the new TELUS
Business Centre at the Toronto Board of Trade. The Business Centre is designed
to provide local businesses with advanced communications solutions that will
help them optimize operations and grow their business.
    The TELUS Business Centre will provide businesses visiting the Toronto
Board of Trade with work stations, thin-client computers, printing facilities
and private meeting spaces, as well as access to sophisticated collaboration
technology such as video and audio conferencing. Companies can utilize the
TELUS Business Centre to extend partnerships, connect with colleagues in
different cities and meet with new clients. The Business Centre will also
demonstrate the latest in technology applications for business including GPS
and Visual Voice Mail.

    TELUS and the Toronto Board of Trade unveiled the TELUS Business Centre
to celebrate Small Business Week, Oct. 19-25. The event included a panel
session with business guru Arlene Dickinson, from CBC's Dragons' Den, Tony
Lourakis, president & CEO, Complete Innovations Inc., Dan Golberg,
vice-president, TELUS Small Business and Carol Wilding, president & CEO,
Toronto Board of Trade, to discuss the trends and challenges facing small
businesses today.
