Tech Data Canada Offers New Cisco "Try and Buy" Program

Innovative 60-day "hands-on" testing program allows partners to demo
    Cisco products before purchasing

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Nov. 29 /CNW/ - Tech Data Canada, a leading provider of
IT products, logistics management and other value-added services, will be
offering Cisco's new "Try and Buy" program to its reseller partners in Canada.
Through this interactive program, authorized partners will be able to obtain
specific Cisco products on a trial basis through Tech Data, providing them the
hands-on knowledge they require in order to make smart purchasing decisions.
"Tech Data realizes the value of providing this type of program and sales
tool to the Canadian marketplace," said Greg Myers, vice president of
marketing for Tech Data. "We recognize our customers' need for increased
hands-on demonstrations of Cisco solutions. As such, implementing this program
allows us to help end-user customers experience Cisco's superior communication
solutions for themselves, making it easier for them to make the right
decisions when purchasing equipment."
Under the Try and Buy program, authorized partners will be able to submit
an order for select Cisco products through Tech Data, at which point the
distributor will ship the equipment to the partner, where it can be tested in
the partner's end-user live network for up to 60 days. The partner may return
the Cisco product within 60 days, but if they choose to keep the product, no
action is required on their part: at the end of the 60-day time period the
partner will automatically receive an invoice from Tech Data to purchase the
equipment.
The Try and Buy program offers customers a flexible and convenient way to
test specific products and solutions that would be the best fit for their
companies. By providing a test-run through authorized partners, customers have
the solid knowledge that their chosen solution is just right for their
particular situation. The evaluation aspect of the Try and Buy program will
help users make the best business decisions that will result in greater
profitability and efficiency.
The Cisco Try and Buy offering through Tech Data emphasizes both
companies' commitment to channel partners - particularly in the SMB market -
to provide them with products that fit their business and help them achieve
their goals. The Cisco Advanced Technology Solution Centre (ATSC), another
joint initiative between Cisco and Tech Data in Canada, is an added example of
this type of program, offering a forum for showcasing solutions targeted at
the small- to mid-sized business (SMB) market. Both the ATSC and the new Try
and Buy program are designed to help customers get a hands-on demonstration of
Cisco products and ultimately help them make more informed decisions when
purchasing equipment.
"Tech Data continues to look for ways to streamline the purchase process
for our customers and by extension, their end-users. The Try and Buy program
is one more way in which we can make the selling process easier for our
partners," says Myers.
