Tea Party Tories Continue Campaign to Alienate

TORONTO, Sept. 8, 2011 /CNW/ - Tea Party Tim Hudak and his team of far-right candidates continue their reckless campaign to remove the word "progressive" from the Progressive Conservative name.

Tonight, the media reported that Peterborough PC candidate Alan Wilson, himself an immigrant from Northern Ireland, stated that newcomers to Canada are not "our" people, right after a Hudak speech.

.@timhudak Peterboro Tory can Alan Wilson, Northern Ireland immigrant, says foreign workers not "our" people. #voteOn

-Toronto Star reporter tweet, September 8, 2011

Wilson's remarks reflect Hudak's own bumper-sticker, intolerant pandering.  Just this week, media have roundly condemned Hudak's rhetoric:

"If this is the kind of crap you expect Ontarians to swallow, you will have no shot at becoming Premier."

-Dave Agar, News and Views, CFRB, September 8, 2011

Hudak's rhetoric and the PC party's "Ontarians need not apply" ad go too far. It amounts to a thinly veiled attack on immigrants… this is the politics of division. It is angry. It is ugly. And it's not what Ontarians are about.

-Toronto Star Editorial, September 8, 2011

Tim Hudak: he'll take Ontario backwards, and divide us.  Only Dalton McGuinty has the strong leadership needed to bring Ontario forward, together.
