TORONTO, Sept. 3 /CNW/ - Solar-powered computer stations, sunscreen and
cooling misters are just a few of the ways TD Canada Trust is making Virgin
Festival more comfortable for Toronto rock fans. Virgin Festival Toronto takes
place September 6th and 7th at Toronto Island Park and TD Canada Trust will be
there as a sponsor to help pump up the volume at the TD Friends of the
Environment Foundation Go Zone, with the TD Comfort Crew and on the TD Music
Stage.
"TD Canada Trust is all about comfort and for many Canadians, comfort is
about kicking back, listening to great music and soaking up the sunshine,"
says Tim Hockey, Group Head, Canadian Banking and President and CEO, TD Canada
Trust. "Being a part of Virgin Festival is a great way for us to connect with
younger Canadians and showcase the fantastic things the TD Friends of the
Environment Foundation is doing in our communities."
The TD Friends of the Environment Foundation will be at the Green Spot -
an area in the Festival dedicated to building environmental awareness.
"We're inviting rock fans to the TD Go Zone in the Green Spot, where they
can blog from solar-powered computers, check out our biodiesel exhibit and
charge their MP3 players and cameras at solar-powered stations," says Mary
Desjardins, Executive Director, TD Friends of the Environment Foundation.
"We'll be featuring some exciting new innovations - innovations we hope will
eventually impact our daily lives in a positive way."
In addition, visitors to the TD Go Zone will be able to find out how TD
Friends of the Environment Foundation and the communities it supports are
making a difference. They can also get involved by signing up for the TD Great
Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, a national conservation initiative running from
September 20th to 28th. Interested music lovers can find their local drop-in
cleanup site by visiting www.vanaqua.org/cleanup.
The TD Comfort Crew will be in the crowd handing out sunscreen, hand
sanitizer and misting rock fans to help them stay cool, clean and comfortable.

Virgin Festival and TD Canada Trust kicked off summer on June 22nd and
23rd for more than 35,000 Calgarians with a weekend of amazing music and
experiences at Fort Calgary. In addition to the rockin' TD Music Stage, the TD
Go Zone was a hot spot for Virgin Festival Calgary attendees, with music
lovers making the most of the solar-powered computers and blogging about their
experiences to friends around the world. Many visitors also took advantage of
the opportunity to charge their MP3 players and cameras via solar power. And
if that wasn't enough, the TD Comfort Crew distributed 17 litres of sunscreen
and 34 litres of hand sanitizer!
TD Canada Trust helped music fans get to the Toronto Festival through an
online contest on the TD Money Lounge on Facebook,
www.facebook.com/tdmoneylounge. One lucky winner received an all expenses
paid, VIP trip for four to Toronto's Virgin Festival. Seventy-five additional
fans won passes for two to the Festival.

    TD and Music

Canadians love music and at TD, so do we. So we're proud to be part of
bringing the best in music to our communities and our customers through
sponsorships that include eight of Canada's foremost jazz festivals, Canadian
Idol and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, and by supporting important
and exciting music programs like the National Youth Orchestra, Piano Plus and
the TD Canada Trust Family Concerts. With all the things we're already doing
with music, sponsoring Virgin's Mobile Music Festivals in Canada just feels,
well, comfortable.

    About Virgin Festival Canada

festivals in North America. Since the first-ever Canadian Virgin Festival
launched in Toronto in September 2006, more than 130,000 music lovers have

About TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (TD FEF)

Since 1990, TD FEF has provided $45 million in funding to over 17,000
grassroots environment and wildlife projects across Canada. In 2007, FEF
provided $3 million in support of 830 projects. Thousands of TD customers and
employees donate to TD FEF on a monthly basis and TD Bank Financial Group
