MADRID, June 27 /CNW/ -- Tavex Group announces the appointment of Mr.
Gilberto Mestriner Stocche as Corporate Marketing Director. "The purpose of
this new position is to consolidate the corporate governance of Tavex, ensure
its strategic direction and accelerate the initiatives to consolidate the
group's world leadership in Denim," said Herbert Schmid, CEO, to whom Mr.
Stocche will report.
Based in Madrid, the new Director will be responsible for the development
of strategic-marketing planning, including Tavex Group's brand positioning. He
will also oversee product Research and Development and direct Tavex's
different market activities.
With a degree in Business Administration from FGV - Sao Paulo, Mr.
Stocche also took Marketing courses at UCLA - Berkeley, and holds an Executive
MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. Tavex's new director worked for
companies such as Unilever, C&A and DuPont, has over 11 years of experience in
the textile industry, and recently worked in New York as Marketing
Vice-President for the Americas of the Invista Apparel Division, which owns
the Lycra brand.
The Tavex Group, world leader in Denim, has an installed capacity of 230
million meters per year of Denim fabrics, twills for Sportswear and for
professional clothes (workwear), with annual sales of approximately US$ 500
million in 2006. With clients in over 50 countries, it has plants in Spain,
Mexico, Morocco, Brazil, Argentina and Chile. Recently, the group concluded
negotiations for the acquisition of two plants in Mexico, where it already had
a unit in Puebla, with the objective of increasing Denim production in the
differentiated markets (Authentic and Premium lines) in North America. As part
of this strategy, in July, it will open a Service Center in New York to supply
actual and future client demand.
