EDMONTON, April 30 /CNW/ - Synodon Inc. ("Synodon") (TSXV-SYD), announces
the successful completion of manufacturing of the first field-deployable
realSens(TM) instrument. Testing of the two main sections of the instrument,
optical and cryogenic, has confirmed the performance of these components to be
at or better than anticipated design parameters. Images of the instrument and
some of its components can be found on Synodon's "Recent News" website section
Adrian Banica, President and CEO of Synodon said: "This important
achievement demonstrates Synodon's ability to deliver on its milestones as it
brings its realSens(TM) technology to commercialization". The final instrument
component still being manufactured is a set of highly sensitive, custom
infrared detectors. Following their delivery, instrument testing to confirm
the gas detection sensitivity will commence.
Synodon expects to commence field trials of the realSens(TM) technology
this summer together with a number of pipeline companies. The helicopter pod
assembly required for these field trials is currently in final design and
Synodon Inc. (www.synodon.com) is an Edmonton based technology company
which is developing an advanced natural gas pipeline leak detection system
called realSens(TM), based on correlation spectroscopy technologies developed
under the Canadian Space Program and by Synodon scientists.
