Superior-Greenstone Occasional Teachers Have a Deal

TORONTO, April 19 /CNW/ - Elementary public occasional teachers, members
of the Superior-Greenstone Occasional Teacher Local of the Elementary
Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO), reached a tentative collective
agreement with the Superior-Greenstone District School Board today.
Superior-Greenstone elementary public school teachers reached a tentative
agreement yesterday evening.
"Superior-Greenstone is all wrapped-up," said ETFO President David Clegg.
"Our bargaining teams met with the board and bargained around the clock to
make sure these deals happened. The agreements are a win/win situation for
everyone - elementary teachers and occasional teachers, the
Superior-Greenstone District School Board, and elementary students."
"My bargaining team pulled out all stops to get a deal. Once the
agreement is ratified, it will ensure four years of improved working
conditions and benefits for all of my members" said Artie Cooper, President of
the ETFO Superior-Greenstone Occasional Teacher Local.
Details of the occasional teacher agreement will be available following a
ratification vote later this month.
The Superior-Greenstone Occasional Teacher Local represents 104 public
elementary occasional teachers. Their contract expired August 31, 2008.

The Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario represents 73,000
elementary public school teachers and education workers across the province
and is the largest teacher federation in Canada.
