Sunward Adds to Its Senior Management Staff

VANCOUVER, Sept. 28, 2011 /CNW/ - Sunward Resources Ltd. (the "Company" or "Sunward") (TSXV: SWD), is pleased to announce that Ms. Brenda Dayton has joined the Company as Director of Corporate Affairs and Corporate Secretary, based in the corporate head office in Vancouver. Ms. Dayton holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Calgary. Ms. Dayton has extensive corporate and managerial experience, most recently with Ivanhoe Mines Ltd.

Sunward is also pleased to announce that Ms. Maria Jose Mejia has joined the Company as General Manager for its Colombian branch - Sunward Resources Sucursal Colombia.  Ms. Mejia will be based in Sunward's newly-opened office in Medellin, Colombia.  Ms. Mejia holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University de La Sabana in Bogota and an MBA from the European School of Economics, University of London.  The Company has also added positions of Community Relations Manager, Manager of Finance, and a Senior Exploration Geologist, all based in Colombia.

As part of this increase in staffing levels, the Company has granted 665,000 incentive stock options.  The options are exercisable at $1.88 per share for a period of five years, subject to TSX-V approval.

At the Chisperos-Virgen Zone, Behre Dolbear identified an Inferred Mineral Resource of 2.001 million ounces of gold (100.916 million tonnes grading 0.617 g/t gold, using a 0.3 g/t gold cut-off).

Sunward also owns a 100% interest in the Mande Norte (Murindo) property, located in northwestern Colombia.
