BOUCHERVILLE, QC, Oct. 31 /CNW Telbec/ - Structal-Heavy Steel
Construction ("Structal"), a business unit of Canam Group Inc. (TSX: CAM), has
obtained a $23-million contract from Chardonnay Construction for the
fabrication and erection of the structural steel that will be used for the
construction of Phase 1 of the huge recreational and commercial Lac Mirabel
complex, scheduled to open in the fall of 2009. Le Groupe Murray Frankel is
the project manager for this mega-mall worth $1.2 billion on behalf of real
estate developer Gordon Group Holdings of Greenwich, Connecticut.

(185,807 m2) and will be erected on a huge 330-acre property to the west of

fabricated at Canam Group's Quebec-based St. Gédéon and Boucherville plants.
Work is slated to begin in April 2008 and end by late December 2008. The
Technyx business unit, specialized in the provision of engineering services,
will also participate in this project from its offices in Boucherville,
St. Georges and Brasov in Romania.
