Strike action pending at 15 Wing

MOOSE JAW, SK, Sept. 7 /CNW Telbec/ - Public Service Alliance of Canada
(PSAC) members who work at 15 Wing, Moose Jaw for ATCO Frontec are in a strike
position as of Saturday September 8. However, they have decided to defer
strike action in order to encourage the employer to return to the bargaining
table.
Negotiations broke down between ATCO Frontec and the PSAC on Thursday
August 16th. The parties were meeting with the assistance of a federal
conciliation officer who ended her mandate the next day.
According to PSAC negotiator Maggie Armstrong, "the conciliation officer
has been in contact with both parties and we hope that her intervention will
be helpful."
PSAC members at ATCO Frontec, including firefighters, heavy equipment
operators, refuelers and trades, carry out operational duties and provide
infrastructure services related to the day-to-day operation and maintenance of
15 Wing Moose Jaw.
The collective agreement expired December 31, 2006
