Steelworkers Win First Contract With Saint John Delta



    SAINT JOHN, June 27 /CNW/ - United Steelworkers' (USW) Ontario/Atlantic
Director Wayne Fraser announced Wednesday that workers have voted 83 per cent
in favour of a first collective agreement with the Delta Brunswick Hotel.
    The contract settlement, reached late last week, boosts wages by 9.5 per
cent over three years and includes benefits and pensions for the 115 workers
who work in laundry, housekeeping, the kitchen, restaurant and bar, and
provide maintenance for Brunswick Square. The hotel is at 39 King Street,
Saint John.

    The USW, Canada's most diverse union represents more than 280,000 men and
women working in every sector of Canada's economy, including more than 3,700
in hotels across the country.
