CALGARY, April 15 /CNW/ - AgeCare Group of Companies (AgeCare) is pleased
to announce that members of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees have
voted in favour of an Agreement for our employees at Valleyview Care Centre,
Seniors Aging in Place Facility, in Medicine Hat.
AgeCare extended the offer to the union to return to the table after
workers had been off the job for four weeks. It was time for both parties to
put their differences aside and work cooperatively towards an agreement so
that Valleyview employees could return to work caring for the residents who
missed them greatly.
AgeCare would like to thank our residents who have continued to be
patient in this time of transition. We did our best to keep them comfortable
and cared for during a period of uncertainty, but it was difficult to adjust
to a change in the caregivers that they were used to seeing on a regular
basis. Our residents deserved a settlement and we are glad that we could
deliver one for them.
AgeCare Group of Companies is relieved this dispute is behind us and we
thank all those who had a hand in helping it come to an end. Our focus now is
on the future and ensuring that our residents and staff are safe and happy in
their home and their workplace.
