St. Clair College Gives Dell an A+ on its Report Card



    Dell Powers Email Migration Project for College in Time For Back to
    School

    TORONTO, Sept. 11 /CNW/ - Dell Canada today announced that St. Clair
College has partnered with the company on a major technology refresh
incorporating the new Microsoft Exchange 2007 platform into its existing
architecture. The college's new infrastructure will become its core messaging
solution moving into the upcoming school year, replacing the current messaging
system.
    Servicing over 21,000 students, faculty and staff, St. Clair College
chose Dell and Microsoft for their ability to support its rapidly growing
distance education program. The advanced messaging and calendaring
infrastructure will be deployed on five Exchange 2007 server components, each
residing on its own individual POWEREDGE(TM) 2950 server. A totally scalable
IT solution, the messaging platform will also utilize the enhanced security
offerings available on Microsoft Exchange, protecting the college from
troublesome spam and virus attacks. Streamlining St. Clair College's IT
processes, the refresh will also increase productivity through software tools
like Outlook Anywhere, Outlook Mobile Access and Outlook Web Access.
    In addition to guiding St. Clair College through the process of designing
the new messaging platform and purchasing the solution, Dell Professional
Services also played a significant role in the deployment, ensuring that the
college's IT Staff was fully trained on all core technology systems.

the college one step closer to having a fully user-integrated solution. With a
large influx of students at the start of every semester, Exchange Server 2007
will make the process of getting those students online and recognized by the
network far easier for the college's IT department - saving them valuable time
and resources.
