Spotwave Appoints Vice Presidents, Marketing and Operations - Industry Veterans, Former Gartner Executive, and Former Alcatel Executive, Join In-Building Wireless Leader to Further Market Growth and Advance Company Operations



    OTTAWA, April 11 /CNW Telbec/ - Spotwave, an established provider of
in-building wireless coverage solutions, has appointed David Whitten as Vice
President of Marketing, and Colin Parry as Vice President of Operations.
Mr. Whitten leads the company's strategic marketing, marketing communications,
product marketing and product management functions. A seasoned marketing
professional with over 30 years of IT experience, Mr. Whitten comes to
Spotwave after a successful career including senior management positions at
Intrado, Contellect and Gartner. Mr. Parry leads the company's operations
including manufacturing, customer service, and IT, having joined Spotwave from
senior posts at Alcatel and Curtiss-Wright Corp.

    Joining Spotwave most recently from Intrado, a provider of 9-1-1
infrastructure technology, products and services, Mr. Whitten served as Senior
Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy since 2002. In this
capacity he was responsible for strategic planning, and international business
expansion as well as all marketing, business development and government and
external affairs functions. Prior to Intrado Mr. Whitten founded and served as
CEO for Contellect, a leading edge content integration company.
    Mr. Whitten also spent 9 years at Gartner, where he was senior vice
president and general manager of research, responsible for the company's core
business unit, a 900 person organization that generated over US$500M annual
revenue. After joining Gartner as research director, electronic messaging
systems, he served in senior management positions for electronic messaging
systems and advanced computing environments research as well as in practice
management. In recognition of his thought leadership in the IT industry, he
was appointed as a Gartner research fellow in 1997.
    Mr. Parry joins Spotwave most recently from Curtiss-Wright Corporation, a
provider of advanced products and services for military, commercial and
industrial applications, where he was General Manager, Vice president of
Global Operations and led the manufacturing, engineering, logistics, business
systems, quality and customer care groups across multiple facilities.
    Prior to his tenure at Curtiss-Wright, Mr. Parry served in increasingly
senior operations positions at Alcatel/Newbridge Corporations between 1992 and
2005, including Vice President Manufacturing Operations, Vice President
Canadian Logistics Operations and Vice President North American Logistics
Operations. His previous posts included senior positions in engineering, SMT
production, manufacturing, and logistics, with organizations including
Panasonic Matsushita Electric Ltd, Race Electronics and Hoover PLC.
