Hundreds expected to take over 'Spice City' Toronto on November 1 at 12pm
Rock up and register to win an advanced copy of the new Spice Girls Album
SPICE CITY, Oct. 26 /CNW/ - Mobile mania will take 'Spice City' Toronto
by storm at 12pm on Thursday November 1, 2007 as Virgin Mobile is joined by
Spice Girl 'Mel B' to smash the World Record for the most mobile phones
ringing in unison ever. In 2001, Virgin Mobile UK established the world
ringtone record with 254 people playing the same tone simultaneously in
London, UK. Now, with a little friendly competition from Virgin Mobile Canada,
Toronto is going to attempt to break that record to coincide with the official
launch of Virgin Mobile Live(TM).
Hundreds are expected to gather in the heart of downtown, the Toronto
Eaton Centre (exact location: Level 2, across from Tristan America, and
Aritzia. The closest entrance is off Yonge Street by Shuter Street) to take
part in the big event. The first 500 fans to text 'MelB' to a special code
unveiled at the event will be able to download a ringtone of the Spice Girls'
smash debut hit "Wannabe". Then Mel B and MTV host Aliya-Jasmine Sovani will
lead the crowd in the attempt to break the record.
To take part, bring your mobile phone down to the Eaton Centre by 12pm on
Thursday November 1, 2007. Virgin Mobile Angels will be on hand to guide
everyone through the event.
Everyone who takes part in the world record attempt will be able to
register to win an advanced copy of the new Spice Girls Greatest Hits CD
before it drops in stores on Tuesday, November 13. Virgin Mobile will also be
giving away other goodies such as the Samsung m510 Virgin Mobile Live phone.
Mel B will be holding an autograph and photo signing session straight
after the world record breaking attempt.
