MONTREAL, June 14 /CNW Telbec/ - Speedware Ltd. is proud to announce that
it has won first place in the 2007 Alpha Contest, sponsored by the St. Laurent
Chamber of Commerce. The Alpha contest showcases businesses located in the
borough of St. Laurent who have demonstrated superior performance over the
past year. The winners were announced at a gala event held at the Sheraton
Four Points Hotel on May 23, 2007.
This was the 23rd edition of the contest, providing recognition and
visibility to companies chosen as finalists in a variety of categories.
Winners are selected by a jury of businessmen and women and judged on criteria
such as administration, personnel management, strategic development,
accomplishments and successes, all occurring in 2006. Speedware won first
place in the Manufacturing - Electronic, Electric and Computer Products
category, displaying increases in revenue and profitability, a new product
release, the addition of new employees and customer support re-certification.
"As a first-time participant in the contest, we are obviously thrilled to
have won first place in our category. Our growth, in terms of revenues,
customers and product offerings, was instrumental to our winning this contest.
Due to strategic planning and timely restructuring, we have benefited from an
expanded market reach," said Andy Kulakowski, General Manager of Speedware.
"We would like to thank our employees for their hard work and we look forward
to participating again next year, hopefully with the same outcome," he added.
