Canadian Television Premiere - November 24 at 9pm ET/6pm PT

TORONTO, Oct. 18 /CNW/ - Battlestar is back! The members of the colonial
fleet return in the special standalone two-hour film Battlestar Galactica:
Razor, premiering on SPACE on November 24 at 9pm ET/6pm PT. With clues to the
fate of the whole Battlestar Galactica universe, Razor will make fans say
"what the frak!" Cylon centurions from the classic series make an appearance,
questions from the past are answered, the fate of one of the characters is
prophesized, and a same sex relationship within the fleet is revealed.
Serving as a backdrop for the series' upcoming fourth and final season,
which debuts on SPACE in early 2008, Razor follows Lee Adama's (Jamie Bamber)
first mission as the Commander of the Battlestar Pegasus and reveals the
untold story of Major Kendra Shaw (Stephanie Chaves-Jacobsen), Adama's new XO.
Through flashbacks, the harrowing tale of Pegasus's desperate fight for
survival in the immediate aftermath of the Cylon's genocidal siege of the 12
Colonies is revealed through Shaw's eyes.
Shaw is haunted by memories of her service and sacrifice under the
command of Admiral Helena Cain (Michelle Forbes), the hardball former leader
of the Pegasus. Cain was able to save Pegasus during the Cylon attack, but
only by making Shaw and her fellow officers employ suicidal battle tactics and
brutal war crimes against their own people. "This war is forcing us all to
become razors because if we don't, we don't survive," rationalizes Cain. "And
then we don't have the luxury of becoming simply human again."
Executive produced and developed by Ronald D. Moore (Carnivale, Star
Trek: Deep Space Nine) and David Eick (Bionic Woman), Battlestar Galactica is
a stunning re-imagination of the 1978 cult classic hit series that has
redefined the space opera with its gritty realism. In addition to winning a
prestigious Peabody Award, the series has been honoured as one of the 10
Outstanding Television Programs of the Year by the American Film Institute
(AFI) for two years running. Shot in Vancouver, B.C., Razor also stars Edward
James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, James Callis, and Canadian actors Tricia Helfer,
Grace Park and Michael Hogan.
