Sofame CEO Brisson Discusses First 100 Days



    MONTREAL, Aug. 27 /CNW Telbec/ - Sofame Technologies Inc. (TSX-V: SDW), a
leading manufacturer of environmentally efficient industrial hot water systems
and cost efficient heat recovery equipment, has launched an aggressive program
to support its network of manufacturers representatives according to Michel
Brisson, Sofame's CEO. Brisson made the comments in a memo to shareholders
posted on Sofame's website.
    As part of the sales campaign, Sofame hired a Vice President of
Marketing, Robert Demers, to design and lead the distributor training program.
Both existing and new Rep firms are receiving product training and access to a
new web-based sales hub. The 100 Day follow-up, after the 3-day training, is
expected to result in a first signed customer contract for each new
distributor. Existing Reps are also going through the training. Sofame has
also hired a Business Development Manager who directly contacts multinational
companies at the head office level. A new Director of Engineering position was
created to strengthen technical support and internal engineering processes.
Sofame's strategy, unveiled earlier this year, is to leverage its success at
individual plant locations into corporate-wide energy efficiency initiatives.
John Gocek, Sofame's COO, has assumed the additional role of EVP of Sales.
Four new US representatives have signed with Sofame since May. Brisson stated
that these moves and new tools to manage the sales process are intended to
reduce the sales cycle and generate an order backlog.
    Sofame's immediate objective is to convert bids to purchase orders. The
company designs boiler room solutions and bids on new projects every week.
    Financing the sales and marketing strategy will depend on the Corporation
maintaining adequate working capital in case revenue growth is slow to
materialize. Since Sofame withdrew a $5 million prospectus filing on July 23,
2009, due to unfavourable market conditions, the need for additional
investment remains. Sofame has therefore initiated a search for additional
investment in the form of equity, debt, bank borrowing or a combination
thereof.
