SKOR announces record 2007 revenue



    TORONTO, Nov. 27 /CNW/ - Skor Food Group Inc. (TSX.V: SKF) ("SKOR"), is
pleased to announce record revenue for the year ended August 31, 2007 of
$180 million, and provide a corporate update.

    CORPORATE UPDATE:

    We are also pleased to report that SKOR is now a fully vertically
integrated food manufacturer, food distributor and a wholesaler of food
products to both the retail market and the wholesale trade. The divisions
include Skor Food Service Ltd., Skor Culinary Concepts Ltd. and Skor Cash and
Carry/Wholesale Division, all servicing the Ontario market.
    Skor Food Service Ltd. has completed the final integration of all five of
its food service distribution company acquisitions into one new
200,000 sq. ft. head office and warehouse location in Vaughan, Ontario. This
consolidation is expected to reduce operating costs by more than $500,000 per
annum in fiscal 2008.
    The management team has been strengthened with the hiring of Mark
Bateman. Mark will serve as Vice President, Sales and Marketing. His 25 years
of extensive experience in managing and growing food service sales with three
major food companies in Canada will prove to be a great asset to SKOR and its
shareholders.
    David Capobianco has been appointed to the role of Vice President,
Procurement. David has held various management positions at Skor Food Service
over the last 10 years and he will work with the procurement team on cost
control, category management and further strengthening of relationships with
key suppliers.
    Skor Culinary Concepts Ltd. plans to consolidate production at a new
manufacturing facility by the end of the second quarter of fiscal 2008. The
division is presently producing and selling in excess of 12,000 meals per day
and is expected to profitably grow its market share in the ready to serve
meals segment of the food service industry as well as the home meal
replacement (HMR) segment of the retail markets. This division is also
aggressively reviewing opportunities for consolidation in this marketplace.
    Throughout 2007, the Cash and Carry/Wholesale division of SKOR has been
combating the competitive challenges being served up in the Ontario
marketplace. Over the past year the Company has centralized purchasing,
instituted location to location consistent retail pricing, completed in-depth
product rationalization, instituted deep labour cost controls, completely
realigned all 11 locations and launched a firm, disciplined approach to
increasing margins. The Wholesale division has persevered through the
challenges under the capable management of its Vice President - Bart Trentadue
and this division is now beginning to expand. Its growth plans include a newly
branded "SKOR Wholesale Marketplace". The first location opened its doors on
November 12, 2007 in St. Catherines while a second will open in Bradford in
early 2008. The primary focus of this new concept is to serve the food service
trade as well as the general public, while understanding that its roots (the
convenience channel and the independent retail grocer) will continue to count
on and be serviced by Skor.
    The Senior Management group in all divisions are focused on building a
team of motivated staff that together will deliver profitable growth and
maximize shareholder value in the years to come.

    SKOR, through its operating divisions Skor Food Service, Skor Culinary
Concepts and Skor Cash and Carry is a fully vertically integrated, full
service, mid sized, wholesale food supplier to the food service and retail
industries. The products sold include frozen goods, refrigerated products,
canned goods, paper and plastic products as well as dry goods including
tobacco and confectionary items. SKOR services a wide range of multi location
food service establishments, Quick Service Restaurant chains, day care
facilities, government institutions, independent food service operators,
independent grocery stores as well as vending operators and convenience stores
in Ontario.
